One of the most common questions I get from couples before their session is: “Where should we do our engagement photos?” And the answer is, it truly depends on you!


The location you choose sets the tone for your session. But more importantly, it should reflect who you are together. Whether we’re wandering through a golden meadow, exploring a quiet museum, strolling downtown, or hiking to a riverbank, the setting becomes part of your story.


Here’s how to choose a spot that’s perfectly you:

Where do you feel most at home together? Do you love the outdoors, spend weekends exploring new coffee shops, or visit the art museum on slow Sunday mornings? Your engagement session is a chance to celebrate that.


Some ideas to get you thinking:

Nature lovers: fields, forests, mountains, lakes

City folks: rooftops, downtown alleys, industrial buildings

Sentimental spaces: your first date spot, your home, your college campus

Do you want your session to feel cozy and intimate? Light and playful? Bold and modern? The environment plays a big role in the mood of your photos.


Soft, earthy tones = wildflower fields, wooded trails, riverbanks

Each season brings its own magic. Spring blooms, summer sunsets, crisp fall leaves, or cozy winter vibes.  The time of year might inspire a completely different location.

If you're having a hard time choosing, we can split your session between two nearby locations: maybe a nature trail and a rooftop, or a stroll through town and then a field at golden hour. It gives you variety and helps tell a fuller story.
